Savage Sports Corp. CEO named one of 25 people who have changed the face of hunting and fishing

Suffield, CT - Nov. 30, 2007 - Ron Coburn, Chairman and CEO of Savage Sports Corp, with corporate offices in Westfield, MA was recently named one of 25 people who have changed the face of hunting and fishing by Outdoor Life Magazine.

Coburn and 24 others are featured on the cover of the Magazine's December/January issue, which is on newsstands now. Coburn was honored for his reputation for turning struggling companies into incredibly successful ones within the outdoors industry.

In 1982 Coburn was called upon to revive the ailing Case knife company, located in Bradford, PA. Six years later, with that success behind him, he moved on to Savage. After the company filed for bankruptcy in 1988, Coburn became the president and CEO and began the transformation that led Savage to be the thriving, growing company that it is today.

Ron is quick to share the credit with all the members of the Savage family, "There are a great number of people at Savage who deserve credit for making this company what it is today. We work hard together to manufacture a quality product and as a family, we share this honor"

Ron is currently owner of Savage Sports Corp, which is comprised of Savage Arms, a leading manufacturer of center fire rifles in Westfield, MA and rim fire rifles in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada; Stevens, a major brand of center fire rifles, rim fire rifles and shotguns; Fox, a high-quality brand name for shotguns; Savage Range Systems, a manufacturer of patented shooting ranges and bullet traps; Porta Target, an industry leader in ranges targets and shoot houses; and most recently, BowTech Archery, a major manufacturer of compound bows with facilities in Eugene, Oregon.
